Autumn colors

   Hello my dear friends!
Autumn is here and guess what, is my favorite season...!
The colors are something that no one can ever describe. The variety of shades is a reminder of how unique each one of us is. No matter how similar we are there is always a shade difference...And the warmth of the Sun, gently touching your face...
I hope you had as much fun this Summer, as me !
After wrapping up the closing of the store I had wonderful with friends and family. Traveling, hiking, swimming and of course, decorating.
This is before and after pictures from the bedroom
of a very special woman.
And because she is special, I created a special room
for her to feel like a Queen.

Even Layla expressed her approval, by jumping up and resting like royalty..!!!!
After the Bedroom, was the Living room..  You can see above again, before and after pictures.
The client was so pleased with the results, that I was invited to spend some time at her summer home in
Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia.

I love the tranquility of this province.
The laid back attitude of the people, the rolling hills, the caves of the shore, the tides and the music.

I'll remember this trip as a wonderful time combining the plenty of pleasure and a bit of work !

Thees rooms with lovely antique furniture needed
only repositioning to achieve a pleasing and comfortable balance.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I'll continue sharing my projects with you, with the hope that they will help you make your decisions.
Until the next time,
Cheers,
Lucy Kokalov

The wind of change

Change is like the wind, when something new and wonderful blows away the clouds of the old !
It's a strange coincidence, today the 9th of May 2012 is the 68th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The day that brought back peace to Europe, and ended the misery of suffering and darkness. Today is the day I'm announcing to all my fabulous customers and followers that Boj Decor will restructure and remodel its operation, ending one stage and starting a new, more promising one. On the 30th of June my present location will be closed. Right now the store is having a 15-50%- off sale, and you will find many beautiful items you may once have admired at a very affordable price.

I'm grateful for all nine years I've been at this spot. I've had a great time, met the most wonderful people, had  incredibly  loyal customers, visited the best homes in Toronto.
People came into my life just by entering the store and I believe they'll be with Boj and me for many more years to come.
I opened the store knowing how to sell furniture. Now nine years later I find myself a decorator, stylist, staging expert, color consultant, window designer, merchandiser, bookkeeper, sales manager, director, customer service operator, shipping and delivery expert... I learned so much and I feel strong and more confident than ever!
After closing at the end of June I'll take two months off. I'll be traveling to Europe to recharge, visiting Nova Scotia to decorate, spending some time in Muskoka to relax...
I'm very excited about the change! I feel energized, optimistic and full of ideas ! I can't wait.
In September Boj Decor will be back on Mt. Pleasant in a new location (to be announced) and with a new direction. My goal is to concentrate on interiors, decor, art in all its forms and  unique accessories from any period and from around the world..!!!

The richness of Architectural Detiles in every day life

Many people lately go for the simple, clean modern look.
I personally think, it's cold and uninviting. The clean empty lines make the room almost looks  like showroom instead of home. And what is with this beige, neutral and safe...?
But do not forget that this is my style I'm talking about my taste, and we are all different. Your home has to represent who you are.
To me modern can be playful, interesting, can be layers of history and  architectural elements and funky.

Adding all the classic elements, of details gives the richness and elegant appearance for every room.

To me, modern can be playful, interesting, incorporating layers of history and  architectural elements and funky at the same time.
How you achieve that ? By, for example.. build the classic architectural elements in structure of the room and then, play with modern shapes of your furniture, art, wall colors. Or, do the complete opposite. Collection of  interesting antique furniture spread around the simple modern room.
